Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to Profedica: Journal of Teacher Education and Professional Development is first evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor to ensure that the manuscript fits the journal’s focus and scope and follows the author guidelines.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be assigned to an editor with expertise related to the topic of the manuscript. The editor will then assign at least 2 (two) reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

Profedica uses a double-blind peer review process. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential.

Reviewers are generally given 2-4 weeks to complete the review process. Based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the editor will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept
  • Accept with Revisions
  • Resubmit for Review
  • Reject

If the reviewers’ recommendations are significantly different, the editor may assign an additional reviewer to support the final decision.

All manuscripts submitted to Profedica must be written in English.

Review Outcomes

Reject. The manuscript is rejected and will not be published in Profedica.

Resubmit for Review. The manuscript requires major revisions and may be reviewed again after resubmission.
